South Lamar was recently named one of the world’s best bar districts by USA Today Travel. The city of Austin came in #9, calling out South Congress, Downtown and South Lamar as the best bar districts in the city.
Since this article was written, there have been several new bars opening up on South Lamar, like Baker Street Pub. And, of course, you’ll always have old time favorites Saxon Pub, Red’s Porch, Gibson and Barton Springs Saloon. Then, after the night’s over, find a late night Austin food truck, which as you probably know are also some of the world’s best trailer food.
