How are SoLa – South Lamar Schools Rated?
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) uses a four tiered rating system to rate Texas Schools. The highest rating is Exemplary, followed by Recognized, Academically Acceptable and Academically Unacceptable. Zilker Elementary is a very good school and won the national Blue Ribbon. O Henry Middle and Austin High are both acceptable schools.

South Lamar schools are located outside the South Lamar neighborhood. Zilker Elementary is located directly across South Lamar in South Austin’s Zilker neighborhood at 1900 Bluebonnet Lane. Zilker Elementary is within walking distance from most areas of South Lamar. O Henry Middle School and Austin High School are located across Lady Bird Lake in Central Austin. O Henry is located at 2610 West 10th St. and Austin High is located at 1715 W. Cesar Chavez.
